Jesus, how do I love thee?
Let me count the ways.
I love thee enough to endure persecutions
As those in the days of Paul,
To live, in your name, righteously
Enough to break a fall,
To stand against the wicked one
Wherever he might be,
To place you foremost in my life
Negating the word me.
To make the time whenever I can
To show someone the way,
To take heed to your Call to Arms
And fight the fight of faith,
To bury any dream I have
That goes against your will,
In order that my life becomes
A cup for you to fill.
And should there one day come a time
When soldiers are in need,
To plow through some demonic trench,
To do some noble deed,
And you are stationing willing saints
In Hell to fight a foe,
I love you just enough to say
With all my heart, “I’ll go.”
